In short: If you’re flying in from one of these countries, you can enter through various ports such as Shanghai Pudong International Airport or Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. Just make sure you have a confirmed onward ticket to a third country within 144 hours. Upon arrival, simply present your passport and tickets to the immigration officials, and voilà, you’re ready to explore Shanghai and its neighboring regions without a visa!
