Another one!
Big news from China on January 15, 2024! They’ve just announced a visa-free deal for all the Swiss nations. The exact date is still to be decided. This comes right after a meeting between Swiss President Viola Amherd and Chinese Premier Li Qiang to enhance the China-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
In November 2023, China opened its doors to travelers from 6 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain , the Netherlands and Malaysia, allowing them to enter without a visa.
As reported by the Chinese foreign ministry in a statement after the meeting, “The two sides announced the completion of the joint feasibility study on the upgrading of the China-Switzerland FTA and agreed to support the launch of formal upgrading negotiations as soon as possible.”
Premier Li isn’t just stopping there. He’s off to the World Economic Forum in Davos. So let’s hope more countries will enjoy the visa-free entry to China soon!
