3-Day Chongqing Walk: Liziba to Changjia Hui
This route runs across three days — Yuzhong District on day one, Jiangbei and Jiangbei North on day two, and the South Bank paired with Shapingba or Jiulongpo on day three — and is best done in that order to keep metro transfers short.
Day 1 — Yuzhong District
1. Liziba Station (李子坝站)
Take Line 2 to Liziba Station, Exit 1. The station sits inside a residential tower block, and trains pass straight through the building — the view from street level is the main draw. It is the most-photographed metro stop in the city.
2. Fotuoguan Station (佛图关站)
Stay on Line 2 one stop to Fotuoguan, Exit 1. The station itself is the point here — another elevated stop with strong views over the surrounding ridgeline.
3. Chongqing Assembly Hall (重庆大礼堂)
Take Line 1 or Line 10 to Dali Tang Station, Exit 1. Navigate to Yu-Ou Cross-Border Digital Trade Industrial Park, then climb a short flight of stairs — a dozen steps or so — to reach the back façade of the Assembly Hall. Coming at it from this angle gives a cleaner shot than the front plaza.
4. Kuixing Tower (魁星楼)
Take the metro to Linjiangmen Station, Exit 1. The tower sits close by and is a well-known photo spot in the area.
5. Liberation Monument & Dajing Lane (解放碑·大井巷)
Also from Linjiangmen Station. Dajing Lane is an old residential block where locals eat hotpot at ground-floor joints beneath the apartment buildings — that setting is the point, not any particular chain. Braised chicken feet and braised pork intestines are the things to order.
6. Hongya Cave (洪崖洞)
Walk from Liberation Monument. Shoot the illuminated façade from the first floor. From November, lights come on at 18:30.
Day 2 — Jiangbei / Jiangbei North

7. Chongqing Halo Shopping Park (重庆光环购物公园)
Take Line 5 to Chongguang Station. The park is the architectural draw — a large covered green space inside a shopping mall.
8. "I'm at Chongqing" Big Screen (我在重庆大屏)
Take Line 3 to Guanyinqiao Station, Exit 4, then navigate directly to "我在重庆大屏" — it is a 500-metre walk from the exit. The oversized LED screen is the photo stop.
9. North Warehouse (北仓)
From the overpass where you shot the big screen, go down the back steps and walk 200 metres into the Taping–North Warehouse community. North Warehouse is a creative renovation of an old industrial complex.
10. Chongqing Grand Theatre (重庆大剧院)
Take Line 6 to Grand Theatre Station, Exit 4, then turn left to reach Aille City (爱乐之城). Walk straight on to the Agricultural Bank of China entrance for the "water-sky line" (水天一线) reflection shot of the theatre in the river.
Day 3 — South Bank + Shapingba or Jiulongpo
The morning is flexible — Ciqikou or Chongqing Zoo (¥20 per person) are the two options suggested, pick one. Head to the South Bank in the afternoon.
11. Ma'anshan Community Totoro Street (马鞍山社区龙猫街)
Take the Ring Line to Shanghao Station, Exit 3C, then cross the road. The street is inside Ma'anshan Community Park and is named for its Totoro-themed decorations.
12. Chongqing Port Opening Historic Park (重庆开埠遗址公园)
Walk from Totoro Street. Inside the park, a bamboo-woven staircase frames a line-of-sight shot of the Yangtze River cable car (长江索道) — that framing is the reason to stop here.
13. Longmenghao Old Street (龙门浩老街)

14. Xiahao Lane (下浩里)
Take Line 6 to Shangxinjie Station, Exit 2. The main stop inside the lane is Haoyue Bookshop (浩阅书店). The route through the lane passes eleven spots associated with actor Xiao Zhan.
15. Chongqing Circle (重庆之圆)
Navigate to Nanbin Road Clock Tower Square (南滨路钟楼广场). The Circle is a large disc-shaped structure on the waterfront.
16. Changjia Hui Shopping Park (长嘉汇购物公园)
The park sits on Nanbin Road and is the best spot on the South Bank to watch the Two Rivers confluence at night. The free light show runs every Saturday at 21:00 and every night during public holidays.
