WTCC World Tennis Continental Cup returns to Shenzhen's Bao'an Sports Center
The WTCC World Tennis Continental Cup will hold its second edition at Bao'an Sports Center in Shenzhen from December 23 to 27, 2026. The tournament will feature an Asia-versus-World team format with players including China's Wang Xinyu, Zhang Zhizhen, and Bu Yunchaokete, plus international stars Andrey Rublev, Karolína Muchová, and Alexander Bublik. An expanded outdoor carnival with live music, food, and activities will be free with advance reservations from December 23 to 25, while match tickets and combined packages will be required for December 26 and 27; prices and booking details have not yet been announced.

Qianhai Museum in Shenzhen opens trial run on October 30
Qianhai Museum, a new cultural landmark in Shenzhen's Qianhai cooperation zone, opened for trial operation on October 30, 2026, with public access beginning at 14:00 that day. Visitors must reserve free tickets in advance through the museum's official WeChat mini-program, with real-name registration required for specific time slots. On the opening day, 5,000 tickets were available, and from October 31 onward, the daily quota increased to 8,000 tickets, released at 17:00 daily for visits up to seven days ahead.

Beijing Capital Airlines adds Lijiang to Daegu and Singapore flights in Q4 2026
Beijing Capital Airlines will operate two new international routes from Lijiang Sanyi International Airport in the fourth quarter of 2026. The Lijiang–Daegu service runs twice weekly from October 14 to November 25, 2026, and the Lijiang–Singapore service begins once weekly from November 20, 2026, with a break from January 17 to March 4, 2027. Both routes use Airbus A320 aircraft.

Temporary traffic restrictions will begin at 10pm on Saturday, October 17 around Tiananmen Square and expand across central and northern Beijing in stages from 7am on Sunday, affecting roads including Chang'an Avenue, the West Third Ring Road, and areas around Olympic Park. Roads will reopen progressively as the race advances, and travelers should expect delays when driving or taking taxis near the course.

China Southern adjusts aircraft on Australia and New Zealand routes for winter 2026/27
