Chongqing airport to the city centre: metro, bus or taxi
Take Metro Line 10 from Terminal 3. It costs ¥5–7 and puts you near Jiefangbei in roughly 50 minutes with one change; the K01 airport bus goes straight to Jiefangbei for ¥15, and a metered taxi takes 30–45 minutes in clear traffic. Since 23 December 2025 every domestic and international flight at Chongqing Jiangbei (CKG) uses T3, so that is almost certainly where you land. T2 is no longer used for flights; Line 10 still links the two terminals if you somehow end up at the wrong one.
Which option to pick
| Mode | Cost | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metro Line 10, change at Hongtudi to Line 6 | ¥5–7 | About 50 min | One or two people, light bags, daytime arrival |
| K01 airport bus to Jiefangbei | ¥15 | About 65 min | A direct ride, no steps, runs until the last flight |
| Taxi or DiDi | Metered, no flat airport fare; meter starts at ¥10 for the first 3 km | 30–45 min in clear traffic | Heavy bags, groups, arrivals after 23:30 |
Metro Line 10, step by step
- Follow the metro signs down to level B1 inside T3.
- Buy a ticket to Xiaoshizi — ¥5–7, depending on where you finish.
- Ride Line 10 towards the city and get off at Hongtudi.
- Change to Line 6 towards Chayuan, then get off at Xiaoshizi.
- Walk about five minutes to Jiefangbei or Hongyadong.
From the T3 station, the first trains leave around 06:30–06:35 and the last city-bound train goes at about 23:23.
If you land late
The K01 bus leaves T3 from 08:30 until 30 minutes after the last flight arrives, every 30 minutes until 22:30; going the other way, from Jiefangbei, it runs 05:30–21:00. Taxis and DiDi run around the clock. Fares are metered, and there is no official flat airport rate: the meter starts at ¥10 for the first 3 km, rising to ¥11 between 23:00 and 06:00. Travellers report ¥60–100 to Jiefangbei, higher in rush hour. Chongqing's stacked interchanges make the meter climb faster than the map suggests; that is normal here, not a scam.
If you are going straight on to a train
Line 10 stops at Chongqing North Station North Square, about 28 minutes and ¥4–7 from the airport, so you can reach high-speed services without crossing the city. Book onward trains on Trip.com and compare the main booking sites before you commit.
