Luoyang Beijiao airport to the city centre: bus or taxi
No metro reaches Luoyang Beijiao (LYA), so the choice is a ¥1 city bus from the stop outside the terminal or a metered taxi that should come in around ¥20–30. The airport sits roughly 10 km north of the centre, which is 20–30 minutes by car.
Taxi
Luoyang cabs charge ¥8 for the first 2 km, then ¥1.70 a kilometre, with ¥2 added between 22:00 and 06:00 and a 50% surcharge on the distance past 10 km. That puts the old town near ¥25 and the Jianxi hotel district a little less. Drivers sometimes offer a flat price instead of the meter; say 打表 (dǎ biǎo) before you get in, and take a car from the rank rather than one being offered to you inside arrivals.
City buses
Bus 98 is the useful one for the centre. It leaves the stop outside the terminal for Wangcheng Square, runs roughly 06:00 to 20:30 and costs ¥1. Routes 27 and 83 also call at the terminal stop, and all of them are ¥1.
Bus 1 goes south instead, to Luoyang Longmen high-speed station, about every 20 minutes for ¥1.5 — the right bus if you are continuing by train rather than staying in town.

Timing decides the plan. Land before mid-afternoon and the bus works fine. Land after 20:30 and it does not: the last 98 has gone, the ¥2 night surcharge is on, and a taxi becomes the only sensible option.
Why there is no metro
Line 2 ends at Erqiao Road, about 5 km short of the airport. Asked in March 2026 when the line would reach the terminal, the operator replied that work on the extension had not started and that route planning was still under study. Riding Line 2 in means getting into town first, which defeats the purpose with luggage.
One thing worth knowing about this airport: it is primarily a training base for the Civil Aviation Flight University of China, with a limited passenger schedule, so late arrivals are common and the bus timetable gaps are not a mistake.
